Access-orize
Access-orize is an annual fundraiser for arts access held every fall, featuring local artists and performers working together to provide access to arts programming to underfunded youth.
Why is White Rabbit doing this?
Each member of the White Rabbit team has at one point or another been able to pursue arts interests because of opportunities we have been given. Big gestures and small gestures alike made the difference for us, and we want to do the same for young people who may not enjoy the same opportunities.
We have spent the last five years using our talents solely to produce shows and workshops – now we want to add community outreach to our offerings and give back to the people who need it most.
While we know we cannot change the world alone, we can change a small part of one person’s world and make a big difference one step at a time.
We raise funds for Access-orize through the annual event and also accept donations on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Please contact Julie Horbal for more information on our Access-orize giving program.
Where are the funds raised going?
The funds raised at Access-orize will go towards funding either an individual or group’s artistic endeavours.
This can include ongoing programming, dance lessons, art classes, theatre school or any number of other activities – we are open to providing a wide range of opportunities.
The key is that the recipient be a young person or people aged 16-24 in need of assistance (we will require a reference from a social worker, probation officer, youth/family/community worker, teacher or other professional).
In 2010, we were extremely proud to donate our first Access-orize cheque to Just-TV and Hip Hop Academy, a program run out of the Broadway Neighbourhood Centre.
