A new look!

Welcome to the latest incarnation of WRP’s online stage!

We decided it was time to create a new and more interactive home on the web for the rabbit to live in.  Expect to see the revival and improvement of our extensive archive section, a full listing of bios and photos of performers past, as well as other fun ideas such as WRP awards and all sorts of crazy statistics.

We plan to use this new online presence to do more than merely spread the word of the rabbit, we intend www.whiterabbitproductions.ca to become a hub for the community of artists that we have come to love and admire.  Thank you everyone for your hard work and patronage over the years, we hope you enjoy this next step in WRP’s evolution!

neighbours at Carol Shields

White Rabbit is proud to announce we have been invited back to perform for the second straight year in the Prairie Theatre Exchange Carol Shields Festival of New Works.

Last year, we presented a staged reading of Greg Crowe and Cory Wojcik’s LondonTown and also showcased scenes from both LondonTown and Joseph Aragon’s Bloodless: The Trial of Burke and Hare in the festival gala.

This year, we will offer festival-goers a second staged-reading of Neighbours – the original family musical by Craig Cassils and Robin Richardson which we workshopped and presented late last month.

Dramaturge Carson Nattrass continues to work with the writers – who we have come to lovingly know only as “the Boys” – and we are so excited to see what further developments come out of an already strong show.

Stay tuned for more details.

Audition Workshop

We’ve all had bad auditions.

You know, the one you come out of cringing … wondering what you could have done differently to make them even just a tiny bit better.

Sound familiar?

Well wonder no longer.

The first in our 2010 White Rabbit Workshop Series has just the solution to help!

Join us and Manitoba Theatre Centre Associate Artistic Director Robb Patterson for Audition Techniques – a hands-on, intimate day-long seminar designed to help you make the most of any audition.

Registration will open in early March, and we will send out a Facebook update to inform you of registration details.

WRP at 2010 Fringe

We’re in the Fringe. This much we’ve told you.

But since we announced our lottery luck, we’ve heard the rumblings. And we know what you’re all thinking.

Fringe? Musical? Surprise? Tell me! Tell me! Tell meeeee!!!!

Well, we’re about to let you in on a little secret so lean in close, now.

Closer.

Closer.

Closer.

Stop!

Here it is …

We’ve got an idea. And we’re not telling a soul! So you’ll just have to stay tuned, and be prepared to be shocked. Or awed. Or none of the above!

All joking aside, we are working hard to develop a very White Rabbit, very original Fringe show for this summer. And we know you’ll all love it when you see it.

But until then – or at least until MUCH, MUCH closer to Fringe – you’ll just have to wait to hear all about it!

Don’t worry. We know you can do it.

WOW!

Wow.

That was pretty much the only thing the whole White Rabbit crew could say when we completed our staged reading of Neighbours, the original Canadian family musical by Robin Richardson and Craig Cassils.

A spectacular script and score came alive thanks to the dedication and amazingly entertaining character work of our entire cast and the hands-on direction and dramaturgy laid down by Carson Natrass.

The Park Theatre was packed for the event and our lucky audience was treated to a moving, thoughtful and emotional show.

Over the next few months, we will be hard at work finishing the next phase of Neighbours and working to further prepare for our full production in September 2010.

Stay tuned!
